Jaguar in natural habitat

JAGUAR CONSERVATION

At Alma Del Jaguar, we're committed to protecting one of North America's most vital apex predators. As keystone species, jaguars maintain ecological balance, regulating prey populations and preserving biodiversity throughout their range. When we protect jaguars, we protect entire ecosystems.

Our Journey

OUR CONSERVATION JOURNEY

The jaguar has roamed the Americas for thousands of years, a symbol of strength, power, and resilience. Yet today, these magnificent creatures face unprecedented threats – habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict have reduced their range to just 50% of their historic territory.

At Alma Del Jaguar, we believe that our success is intrinsically tied to the health of our environment and the wildlife that inhabits it. Every bottle of our tequila represents a contribution to the ongoing fight to ensure jaguars continue to roam their ancestral lands for generations to come.

Why Jaguars Matter

As apex predators, jaguars play a crucial role in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Their presence affects everything from prey populations to vegetation patterns and even carbon storage.

Ecological Importance

  • Ecosystem Engineers Jaguars regulate prey populations, preventing overgrazing and maintaining plant diversity across landscapes
  • Biodiversity Guardians Their presence ensures healthy populations of numerous other species in the ecosystem chain
  • Watershed Protectors By maintaining ecological balance, jaguars indirectly protect water systems critical to both wildlife and human communities
  • Climate Stabilizers Healthy jaguar populations contribute to forest health, which in turn supports carbon sequestration and climate stability

When we protect jaguars, we're not just saving one species – we're preserving entire ecosystems and the services they provide to humans and wildlife alike.

Agave fiber labels

Agave Fiber Labels

Our bottle labels are made from the same agave plants used in our tequila, reducing waste and completing a circular production cycle. This innovative approach gives new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded.

Repurposed corks

Repurposed Cork Stoppers

We use repurposed cork for our bottle stoppers, supporting cork forest conservation. Cork forests are vital ecosystems that provide habitat for endangered species including the Iberian lynx, a distant cousin of the jaguar.

Recycled glass

100% Recycled Mexican Glass

Our bottles are crafted from 100% recycled Mexican glass, reducing energy use and waste. This approach reduces our carbon footprint while supporting local artisans and glass recycling initiatives in Mexico.
